If you want to get technical…

Up here in Alberta, we have an expression that goes “We have 7 months of winter and 5 months of tough sledding”. The picture above was taken October 4, 2009. The last time I ran a “snow” picture was for our last spring snow on May 18, 2009. That was only 139 days ago… so [...]

Bob Shaver: Tube Storage Unit for a trike

Bob Shaver of Bicycle Technology and Patents strikes again… Bob says of his creation “I saw all the room under the seat and thought I could use a PVC pipe to use that space. But I found a Pickett blueprint carrier which is very light, and with its screw top lid is totally waterproof.” See all [...]

We get mail…

We get mail… often questioning mail that we can’t always answer. Today we were asked: “Hello, my name is Ares and I live in Brazil with my wife, Tatiana. We expect a baby for January. We have been looking around the web for decent ideas to carry a baby along on a tandem recumbent bike [...]

Poll #1 – Answered

What do I know that I didn’t know three days ago? We asked the following question in last Thursday’s poll — “What will your next recumbent (or a new one to your family) be?”. Thoroughly expected to see results that echoed the trend I am hearing from vendors that trikes are overwhelmingly selling better than [...]

In my “Guarded” opinion…

When I GOOGLED the term chainguard, the results were “Results 1 – 10 of about 329,000 for chainguard. (0.31 seconds)”. When I GOOGLED recumbent and chainguard, the results were “You are kidding… right?”, actually they were about 24,000. In North America, as opposed to Europe and elsewhere in many cases, it seems we don’t tend to [...]

Vented Padding…

Remember (or maybe you have one) the post we did on Ventisit seating for recumbents? It was “A Cool Seat – Literally” back in early July. Silly me… I assumed the vented, water-proof, air-filled material was some sort of proprietary development. Not so. Apparently, the basic material goes by the catchy name of ACS10 and can [...]

Bikergo…

This came via Velovision.co.uk who apparently got it from Joe Breeze (as they said, yes, THE Joe Breeze!) and it is a screenshot of the Flash entry into the Bikergo site. Maybe it is a crank-forward… maybe not… I’m not really particular about that. Features I like are the Schwalbe Big Apple tires, the seat that [...]
