POC – Trabec Race

I like the style of this new offering from POC, the Tabec Race. Very light and and yet very strong helmet construction with a vent hole pattern evenly distributed to optimize airflow and at the same time offer protection. I love the styling at the back; looks lovely and flat for velomobile types and there [...]

Mad about Power

Look and Polar introduced the KéO direct-measurement power meter pedals at Euro bike per an article on Bikeradar.com. The pedals are just 170g each and all in (add in the wireless transmitters, cleats, and hardware a) the total weighed is listed at 448g (a fraction under 1 pound) for the pair. This much science doesn’t [...]

So who has YOUR back?

The news on the much awaited Cerevellum above (see our original post of February 27, 2010) is mixed. The unit originally featured a back-facing video camera that allowed you to see, and record ultimately, what was coming at you from behind. Slowtwitch.com noted on August 2 “Cerevellum offers ANT+ compatibility for heart rate and power-measuring [...]

THE N Square.com

No… I’m not actually looking for a “flashy” new backpack. That being said, the Safety Vest (by THE N Square folks) with embedded LED’s that flash like mad seems to be a great idea. On top of the safety idea I am intrigued by running LED’s on such small batteries. The backpack seems to run [...]

It is a delightful town of some 11,000+ folks, just north of my hometown of Red Deer, with some great riding around their several natural lakes (they have 5 or 6 natural lakes right within the town). Apparently we’d brought Lacombe its first velomobile because [...]
