RBR Blog

bikephillycatrikeTravis is the webmaster, resident blogger, and A/V geek of RBR. He is a fan of recumbents but couldn't possibly talk in terms of gear ratios, so don't expect his blog entries to be a technical tour de force. But do expect them to be down to earth if not a little overenthusiastic at times.

And please excuse his strong bias for Catrike, Hase, and HP Velotechnik.

Introducing the Bunge Butterfly Bars

Frank had a problem with the hamster bars on his Optima Baron - they hurt his wrists. So for improved ergonomics, he flipped them! And then, to rest his hands a bit, he added bottom grips (wrapped bar ends). And now we have what is likely the first ever recumbent "butterfly" bar configuration.

Yes, there are "butterfly" bars on upright bikes, but do theirs have distinct upper/lower wings and brake lever antennae? Didn't think so.

We have a new jersey!

Well, we've always had a New Jersey. In fact, we have quite a few customers from there. We suggest you not underestimate the staggering drawing power of the Garden State.

But, that's not the new jersey we're talking about. Oh no, we're talking about our new jersey design now available via Bend It Cycling!

rbr-jersey

Yes, gone is the large RBR "superman" logo and toned down is the square footage of yellow. The colors are still quite striking and unofficially "hi vis" in a non-neon green sort of way.

The image here of the jersey doesn't show it, but the jersey does feature two slanted side pockets, which is two pockets more than the old jersey had.

We will of course stock a variety of sizes at the shop, but you can also order this directly from Bend It Cycling.

It's a little less ICEy around here

We've received word from ICE that they have officially discontinued their B1 short wheelbase bike due to low sales. It was a nice little bike, especially after the folding mechanism was added last year.

But hey, we still have the Adventure, Sprint, and Vortex to play with! If you're into the recumbent trike thing (and most people are).

Bob The Bike Man shows off his bikes

There are two things I enjoy: the pedalcycle collection of Bob "The Bike Man" Swaim and the music of Ben Folds. Some genius combined them to make this video irresistible to me.

Review us at Bent Biz Reviews

Have you ever walked into a store and seen a "How are we doing?" sign or been behind a truck with a "How's my driving?" sticker, but then, once you were home, you forgot the number to call to leave your comments?

Well, you're somewhere with a computing device right now, which means you can see our listing at Bent Biz Reviews and leave comments about the service you've received at RBR. It helps us out by letting us know how we can improve, and it helps you out by serving as a mildly cathartic form of virtual therapy. Would you like to lie down on a couch first? You know, get recumbent

Please don't mention our proclivity for puns in your review. That would kill our business.
